Teeth Whitening

A brighter, whiter smile can often have a positive impact on one’s social life, not to mention provide a healthy boost of self-confidence! Whether you’re looking to create memories for a lifetime with a dazzling smile at your wedding, or to leave a lasting impression at a job interview or reunion, teeth whitening is a fast way to get dramatic results. Whitening your teeth can also be a great way to complement other types of cosmetic dentistry, as well, such as an Invisalign® treatment. At Contemporary & Esthetic Dentistry, our cosmetic dentist offers the KöR® Whitening Deep Bleaching™ System, which often yields exceptional results on even the most stubborn stains.

What are the Benefits of Teeth Bleaching?

Professional teeth bleaching offers a number of advantages for patients seeking a brighter smile. The KöR® Whitening Deep Bleaching™ System can:

  • Remove surface stains from the teeth as well as deeper set stains or areas of discoloration
  • Provide fast smile enhancement with a two-week treatment time
  • Preserve the tooth structure using a more conservative method of whitening compared to procedures such as porcelain veneers
  • Allow you and your dentist to select the desired shade and achieve customizable results
  • Serve as the finishing touch for a smile makeover
  • Give your smile a more healthy, vibrant appearance

Over-the-Counter vs. Professional Whitening Treatments

While many over-the-counter products boast teeth whitening properties, there are distinct differences between a “whitening” product and a “bleaching” product. Any toothpaste or rinse that removes debris from the teeth can be labeled as a whitening product. Though these products may remove surface stains, they may not treat deeper set stains or tooth discoloration. Conversely, a bleaching product must contain professional-grade ingredients such as hydrogen peroxide that can effectively lighten the color of the teeth. Professional teeth whitening treatments are often more powerful than over-the-counter options and can result in a brighter, more vibrant smile. KöR® uses Tri-Barrel™ Hydremide® Peroxide Technology to deliver a higher percentage of free radicals to the teeth for optimal results.

KöR® Whitening

The KöR® Whitening Deep Bleaching™ System is comprised of an at-home and an in-office component. We will create customized trays for you to wear for at-home treatment during a two-week period. Afterwards, a conclusive follow-up treatment will be conducted at our office. The KöR® Whitening Deep Bleaching™ System is designed to treat even the deepest, most difficult-to-remove stains, with long-lasting results. The system is also designed to significantly minimize the sensitivity that is commonly associated with other whitening procedures. With continued at-home maintenance, KöR® Whitening can keep your teeth looking great for years to come.

How Does It Work?

During your initial two-week treatments at home, you will wear trays that are customized to be thin and form-fitting. Researchers have discovered that conventional whitening trays remain fully active for about 25-35 minutes, regardless of how long the trays are worn. The reason is due to saliva contamination, which compromises the effectiveness of the whitening gel.

KöR® Whitening trays are worn while you sleep, and because of their unique design, the professional-grade whitening gel is sealed in, avoiding leakage. The gel is formulated to boost the teeth’s ability to absorb oxygen by remaining fully potent, produce a larger percentage of whitening free radicals than other methods of treatment, and remain active for a longer period of time so the whitening factors can reach the microstructure of teeth. As the oxygen in the gel is absorbed by the teeth, stains can be effectively removed and reveal a lighter, whiter shade.

Thanks Dr. Farber for your tremendous work on my teeth whitening! I can finally show my HUGE smile to the world happily!
